01 / WHAT YOU ALREADY HAVE

Nearly three decades,
one family kitchen.

The site says it plainly: family owned and operated since 1997, in Oakland's Dimond District at the base of the hills. The food is the proof. The website should stop making guests work for it.

  1. 01

A menu that leads with fish

The Fish Plate ($14.75), Super Fish Burrito ($16.25) and two-taco Fish Taco Dinner ($17.00) open the published menu. That is a real point of difference in a crowded lunch market.

  2. 02

    Breakfast through late lunch

Six breakfast burritos from $6.75, wet burritos in red or green enchilada sauce, and thirteen fillings, lengua included. The kitchen already covers the whole weekday window.

  3. 03

    Trays for the whole office

A full catering menu of meat, rice, bean and salsa trays from $15 to $210, with 48 hours' notice and a 15% gratuity on orders above $150.

THE POINT

A 29-year-old institution should not read like a page nobody has touched.

Great food.
A front door that hides it.

Five things a hungry guest meets before the fish tacos. All observed on the public site on 31 October 2026; no admin access was used.

The current Taqueria Los Comales homepage: a centered green logo, red navigation links, a cut-out taco photograph and a welcome line
Public homepage at desktop width. The welcome line is the only introduction before the full menu.
  1. COPY

A stray “hj” under the welcome

The first line a guest reads is followed by two loose letters in their own paragraph: <p>hj</p>.

    SOURCE · / · homepage HTML
  2. SEARCH

The search result has nothing to say

The meta description is empty (content=""), and the page title is only the business name. Google has no sentence of yours to show under the name.

    SOURCE · / · <head>
  3. MOBILE

The number is text, not a button

The phone appears four times on the homepage and zero times as a tel: link. A guest must copy it by hand.

    SOURCE · / · 0 href="tel:", 4 phone mentions
  4. STRUCTURE

112 menu items on one long page

Twelve menu sections and 112 items live on the homepage, with a separate 84-item menu page. The fish specialties are buried in the volume.

03 / THE GAP

11:47 AM. The phone
is already in their hand.

A weekday lunch decision is made in a few minutes. Right now the site asks a guest to scroll, remember a number and hope the kitchen picks up.

TODAY · 6 STEPS
  1. 1Search “taqueria near me”
  2. 2Open a page with no search summary
  3. 3Scroll past the welcome and the stray text
  4. 4Find the number in a paragraph
  5. 5Copy it, or long-press it
  6. 6Call, then ask what is on the menu
PROPOSED · 3 STEPS
  1. 1Open a page that states the cuisine, hours and address
  2. 2See the fish plates and the lunch window
  3. 3Tap call, or open the catering tray path
The same kitchen. A shorter decision.
THE POINT

The site is not short on information. It is short on a direction.

Path observed on the public homepage. No analytics, customer interview or conversion data was supplied, so none is claimed. 04 / 10
04 / THE SYSTEM

One front door.
Six things it has to do.

Brandcore builds the site and the operating rhythm behind it. For Los Comales, every piece answers one question: can a weekday lunch guest decide in three taps?

01

The front door

A fast, mobile-first homepage with cuisine, hours, address and a one-tap call in the first screen.

OUTCOME · The next step is never below the fold.
02

Menu architecture

Fish, breakfast, burritos, tacos and drinks organised into paths, so the specialties lead instead of disappearing into 112 items.

OUTCOME · A guest finds the fish plate in one tap.
03

The catering path

Tray sizes, real prices, 48-hour notice and a request that reaches the kitchen without a scavenger hunt.

OUTCOME · Office orders start with confidence.
04

Local search

Google Business Profile, hours and photography kept accurate, with a map pin that matches the MacArthur Blvd storefront.

OUTCOME · The listing and the site tell one story.
05

Proof and photography

Real food, the real room and the real people. No stock stand-ins, no invented reviews, no borrowed storefronts.

OUTCOME · The page looks like the place.
Brandcore services. Exact scope is confirmed with you at kickoff; nothing is added without approval. 05 / 10
05 / THE FLAGSHIP

The new front door.
Working, not a picture.

A real HTML concept. Switch the tabs, open the lunch menu, build a catering tray, then call from the page. All restaurant facts and prices are from the public site.

06 / THE PROOF

We have done this before.
Here is the work.

United Facilities Group came to Brandcore with a dense page and a buried quote path. We rebuilt the front door around clarity and one visible next step. Drag the handle.

UNITED FACILITIES GROUP

A recent Brandcore rebuild.

The old page competed with itself: a crowded header, small type and a quote button lost in the noise. The rebuild put one headline, one service promise and one quote action in charge.

  • 01One clear service headline
  • 02A visible “Request a quote” action
  • 03Hierarchy that survives a phone

The same standard of clarity comes to Los Comales. No performance metric is claimed here; these are supplied before-and-after images of the build.

07 / ROADMAP

08 / ENGAGEMENT

Three ways to
put it to work.

Start with the front door, add the lunch engine, or keep a partner on the account. Every level is scoped in a short call; no dollar figure is invented here.

LEVEL 01

The Front Door

For getting the basics right, fast.

  • Mobile-first website build
  • Menu architecture and copy
  • One-tap call and directions
  • Launch QA and handover
BEST FOR · A clean replacement of the current site.
LEVEL 03

The Growth Partner

For keeping the place current.

  • Everything in The Lunch Engine
  • Monthly menu and hours updates
  • Seasonal photo and content refresh
  • Monthly local-search review
  • Direct line to your partner
BEST FOR · A long-running neighborhood presence.
INVESTMENT

Fixed-fee quote after a 20-minute scope call. No dollar figures are shown because the work changes with the menu, photography and launch plan.

Nothing is billed by this presentation. Scope, fees and timing are confirmed in a written proposal after the call. 09 / 10
09 / LET'S TALK

Let's make the lunch rush
easier to find.

Start with the menu, the hours and one obvious call button. Then make catering just as easy. If that sounds right, pick a weekday time and I will bring the build plan.

I would start with the fish, the weekday hours and a call button that works with a thumb. Then we make the catering path just as direct.
