Website and growth proposal · Pasadena, CA

Still ground fresh, since 1920.

Mijares has served Pasadena for 106 years, by its own homepage count. This proposal shows how the website can make that history easy to visit, to order from and to book.

  • Since 1920
  • Volcanic stone molino
  • Tortillas hechas a mano
  • Three patios
  • Happy hour Tue to Thu, 3 to 6 PM

02 · The audit

The story is strong. The path to a table, a menu or an order is slow.

Exact counts from the public homepage markup as collected on 31 October 2026. Scripts were not run, so nothing that depends on them is counted.

  1. HIGH01

36 of 49 images have no alt text.

Screen-reader users and search engines get no description for most of the homepage photographs. The count covers every image element in the static markup.

SOURCE · homepage HTML, img elements

  2. HIGH02

The online order button leaves the site over an insecure link.

The “click to place your orders” Grubhub button points to a third-party menu listing on an http:// address, not to a page on your own domain.

    SOURCE · a href "GRUBHUB", http://menus.fyi/2473482

  3. MEDIUM03

Menus and the event calendar are PDF downloads.

Three PDF files are linked from the homepage, including the 2026 event calendar. PDFs do not update with weekend specials and are hard to read on a phone.

SOURCE · 3 links to PDF files under the site's _files folder

  4. MEDIUM04

No meta description and no page-level main heading.

The static head has no meta description, and the markup has no h1 element. Headings are h2 only, so the page has no single main title for search engines or assistive tools.

SOURCE · document head; heading elements

  5. MEDIUM05

Catering is on the phone menu, not on the page.

Our October 29 call reached a phone menu that sends catering and banquet bookings to option 3. The homepage text never uses the word “catering”.

SOURCE · phone menu (partial transcript); homepage text, 0 matches

  6. MEDIUM06

No email address is published on the homepage.

The only direct contact on the page is one phone link, plus the Toast booking widget. A private-events or catering enquiry has no published address to write to.

SOURCE · 1 tel link, 0 mailto links

03 · The gap

A late-night search, one question: can we eat there tonight?

Margaritas on a tiled bar top in warm light.
11:47 PM

Illustrative moment, not a recorded visitor. A diner on a phone wants the hours, the menu and a way to book.

05 · What Brandcore builds

Six pieces, one front door.

Each pillar answers something the audit found. We start with the basics and grow from the menu, the events and the booking path.

Tostadas with pink pickled onion and a shredded topping.

Your kitchen already does the work. The site should show it.

06 · Proof

Your own history is the proof we start from.

No Brandcore client case study appears in this proposal. Case studies are added only from verified client records. This comparison uses only Mijares photographs.

“Mi casa es su casa.” The website should say it on every page.

07 · Roadmap

Three days, seven days, sixty days.

Nothing changes on your live site until you approve it.

Day 3

Fix the basics first

  • Alt text for the 36 images that lack it
  • A meta description and one main page heading
  • A secure ordering link you choose
  • Findings sent back to you with exact counts

Brandcore builds. Mijares confirms the hours and menu text.

Day 7

A staging front door for review

  • Home, menu, reserve and visit pages on a private staging link
  • Menus as web pages, with your current items
  • A phone check on your own device before anything goes live

Brandcore builds. Mijares reviews on a phone and approves.

Day 60

Live, checked and measured

  • Launch on your domain after approval, not before
  • Google Business Profile and Yelp checked against the same details
  • A 60-day review of order and booking clicks from your own analytics

Brandcore launches and reports. Mijares signs off the launch date.

What we need from Mijares

  • Your current menus, as text or files
  • Hours, holiday changes and event dates
  • The ordering and booking accounts you already use
  • Confirmed permission for each photo in this deck
  • The names of the people who approve website changes
  • A 20-minute scope call

08 · Engagement

Three ways to start. We recommend the second.

Level one

Basics

  • Alt text on every photo
  • Meta description and one page heading
  • A secure ordering link
  • Written findings with exact counts
  • Your PDF menus stay available while the new pages are built
Recommended for Mijares Level two

Front door

  • Everything in Basics
  • Home, menu, reserve and visit pages
  • Menus as web pages, with your current items
  • Events and weekend specials page
  • Booking on the provider you already use
  • Google Business Profile and Yelp check
Level three

Partner

  • Everything in Front door
  • Monthly content for specials, happy hour and events
  • A monthly plain-language review of diner actions
  • One named Brandcore contact

Each level is a fixed-fee quote after a 20-minute scope call. This deck shows no prices, statistics or guarantees.
