01 / KEYSTONE PET PLACE

The neighborhood
knows the name.

The grooming book is full. Classes sign up by call or in the store. Cat rescue since 2013, dogs since 2016. The store earned the reputation — the website hasn’t caught up.

02 / SITE AUDIT

The store is warm.
The website is a brochure.

Eight live pages reviewed October 31, 2026; the phone measurements cover five of them. The photography is real and the prices are published. What’s missing is the path from either one to a booking.

  1. 01CRITICAL

    A 980-pixel canvas on a 390-pixel phone.

The homepage lays out at 980px on a phone. 22 of 128 text elements are set at 10px or smaller before the whole page is scaled down. On screen, that lands near 4px.

SOURCE · LIVE HOMEPAGE AT 390 PX, OCT 31 2026

  2. 02HIGH

No home-page H1. 23 of 25 images have no alt text.

The homepage starts at H2 and has no H1. The Events page is titled “Career Opportunites.” Search engines get a name and very little else.

SOURCE · DOM AUDIT, HOMEPAGE AND EVENTS PAGE

  3. 03HIGH

Zero booking, calendar, or waitlist controls.

Across the five core pages there are 0 instances of “book,” “schedule,” “calendar,” “availability,” or “waitlist.” The paths end in a phone number or a store visit.

SOURCE · TEXT AUDIT, 5 CORE PAGES

  4. 04HIGH

The grooming waitlist is one sentence.

“Not accepting new full groom clients” sits mid-page on an 8,921px page. It sends visitors to a phone call to join the cancellation list. There is no form.

    SOURCE · /GROOMING

  5. 05HIGH

A $120 class with no dates.

Training publishes $120, six weeks, ages 8 weeks and up, and a trainer with 40 years of experience. It publishes no class dates and no enrollment form. “Stop by Keystone Pet Place or give us a call with questions.”

    SOURCE · /ABOUT-4 (DOG TRAINING)

  6. 06MEDIUM

The rescue page lists one animal.

The rescue started with cats in 2013 and added dogs in 2016. The live page lists one animal in running text, with a call-or-visit instruction.

03 / THE GAP

11:47 PM.
The store is closed.

A Mount Joy pet parent decides tonight. They have a puppy, a free Saturday, and a phone. Here is the path Keystone offers — and the one it could.

TODAY

Six steps, two of them tomorrow

  1. 1Search “dog training Mount Joy”
  2. 2Land on a 980px page inside a 390px screen
  3. 3Find Training in the top nav
  4. 4Read $120 / six weeks — no dates
  5. 5Read “stop by … or give us a call”
  6. 6Call or visit, Mon–Fri 9 AM–8 PM

Live site, /about-4. No class date, no seat count, no request.

THE REBUILD

Three steps, at 11:47 PM

  1. 1Open the site — next class and open seats visible
  2. 2Pick Saturday, request a seat
  3. 3Request queued for the counter at 9:00 AM

Requests, not fake confirmations. The counter still confirms every seat.

“Stop by Keystone Pet Place or give us a call with questions or to register for an upcoming class.”

takes the booking.

One concept, five jobs: retail hours, grooming capacity, class seats, the wash, and the rescue. The tabs are live. Dates and availability are illustrative; the build connects to the counter’s real system.

05 / THE SYSTEM

Six systems.
One storefront.

Not a brochure with a booking button taped on. The site, the counter, and the search results describe the same business — and hand each other the next step.

01

Website rebuild

Five service paths, real prices, real photos, readable at 390. The storefront photo does the trust work; the layout does the reading.

16.5px+ body on phone, 18–22px on laptop

02

Local search

One page per service: dog grooming, dog training, self-serve dog wash, rescue pets. Add LocalBusiness data that matches the published hours and address.

One page per service, one clear town

03

Booking & waitlist

Grooming cancellation list, class seat requests, wash hours. Requests land at the counter — no fake confirmed appointments, no payment taken online.

Demand captured at 11:47 PM

04

Content library

The 84-paragraph grooming page becomes four service pages. The trainer’s 40 years becomes a credential block. The rescue gets a maintainable pet list.

Reusable blocks, not one long scroll

05

Reviews & proof

A counter QR that routes happy customers to the right profile. Real reviews only — no invented stars, no stock testimonial, no “best in Lancaster” badge.

Reviews collected where the tail wags

06

Growth partner

Monthly changes: new class sessions, seasonal retail, rescue stories, local search checks. One report, written for a store owner — not a dashboard.

A maintained site, not a launch and leave

THE OPERATING PRINCIPLE

One store. One voice. One next step.

Every page ends with a request, a call, or a visit — never a dead end. The counter still owns the relationship. The website just stops losing people before they reach it.

06 / THE PROOF

Same facts.
Readable at 390.

No invented case study, no borrowed logo. This is Keystone’s own training page, rebuilt with the same $120, the same six weeks, and the same trainer — at a size a phone can read.

This panel is HTML, not a screenshot.

Same price, same trainer, same six weeks. One readable next step.

UNCHANGED

The price, the six-week length, the age floor, the trainer, the store. Nothing about the offer is invented to make the redesign look better.

CHANGED

Type size, line length, a visible next session, and one request action. The counter still confirms every seat.

NOT CLAIMED

No conversion lift, no revenue figure, no “before/after” metric. This is a design comparison, not a performance study.

STILL REAL

Every photo, price and name on this page comes from Keystone’s live site. The only invented details are the dates and seat counts, and they are labeled illustrative.

07 / THE ROADMAP

Three days. Seven days.
Sixty.

A proposed sequence, not a promise. The clock starts when the counter can give us the assets and one decision-maker.

DAYS 1–3

Look, then decide

  • Brandcore Page and asset inventory, sitemap, service-page outlines, booking-flow map.
  • Keystone Access, logo files, real photos, price list approval, hours confirmation.
  • Output A one-page build plan and the exact page list.
DAYS 4–14

Build the front door

  • Brandcore Design and build: Home, Grooming, Classes, Pet Wash, Rescue, Contact. Responsive to 360. Request flows wired.
  • Keystone One review round; confirm prices, hours, and who receives requests.
  • Output A staging link on a real phone, tested at the counter.
DAYS 15–60

Fill it, then keep it filled

  • Brandcore Launch, local search setup, review QR, monthly class/rescue updates, 30-day check.
  • Keystone Photos from the salon floor, class dates as they’re set, rescue updates.
  • Output A site that changes when the store does.

Launch day is proposed for day 14, assuming access and approvals in the first week. No dependency on a new POS or a new phone system.

08 / THE ENGAGEMENT

Three ways
to deploy.

Scope is specific. The number isn’t on this page — a fixed-fee quote follows a 20-minute scope call, because the real variable is how much of the grooming and class workflow you want connected.

01 · THE FRONT DOOR

Rebuild the site

For a store that needs the phone version to stop costing it customers.

  • Five service pages + home
  • Mobile-first, 360px up
  • Real photos, prices, hours
  • LocalBusiness data kept accurate
  • Booking requests: basic

Fixed-fee quote after scope call.

RECOMMENDED

02 · THE BOOKING ENGINE

Rebuild + capture demand

For the grooming list and the class roster — the two places demand already exists.

  • Everything in The Front Door
  • Grooming cancellation list
  • Class seat requests + roster view
  • Review QR + follow-up copy
  • 60-day launch support

Fixed-fee quote after scope call.

03 · THE GROWTH PARTNER

Keep it current

For a store that wants the site to move with the seasons, the classes, and the rescue.

  • Everything in The Booking Engine
  • Monthly content + class updates
  • Local search checks
  • Seasonal retail pages
  • Quarterly review at the counter

Monthly scope, fixed fee after call.

No prices, packages, or guarantees are invented on this page. Scope is agreed before any number is quoted.

09 / LET’S TALK

The next visit
starts here.

I’d walk the store with you, then show you the phone version on your own counter. Twenty minutes is enough to scope it.
